Radiation Oncology in Turkey
Our radiation oncologists use radiation to stop cancer cells from growing or to kill them off. Radiotherapy comprises curative radiotherapy (to totally cure tumor growths) and palliative radiotherapy (to alleviate the symptoms of complex cancers). All of radiotherapies focus on delivering multiple rays of radiation with low intensity from different directions. Those rays converge on the location of the tumor, producing high intensity radiation only at that location to kill the cancerous cells without affecting the healthy surrounding tissues.
